Variable Speed Control

Increased performance, less energy consumption

Specifically designed for use with variable speed pumps, Sentinel will monitor and control the pump speed based upon system pressure and flow velocity. When in ‘Eco Mode’, Sentinel uses an ‘Electricity Costs API’ for calculating HH domestic p/kWh and can schedule circulation and filtration around these times to minimise running costs. When the filtration pressure sensors detect the need to perform a backwash cycle, Sentinel will increase the pump duty (typically to 60m/hr) for a more thorough, consistent clean of the filtration media.  This ultimately leads to a cleaner filter combined with less water used during the process.

Sentinel AET™

Increased bather safety

The most serious potential hazard is ‘entrapment’, particularly for children, less able bodied adults, and lone bathers.  This occurs in swimming pools and spas when your body, swimsuit or hair gets sucked into an impaired or faulty suction point.  Other adults may not be strong enough to assist, and death or serious injury can occur when the force of the suction overpowers the swimmer’s ability to disengage and rise to the surface.

With Sentinel Anti-Entrapment Technology several fail-safe procedures are encoded to prevent an entrapment scenario occurring. Sensor data is utilised to analyse system pressure and detect any sudden pressure variations or hammering.  If an obstacle becomes entrapped, Sentinel will cut power to the circulation pump within milliseconds, close any actuator equipped valves, and initiate a triple alert system with an audible alarm, automated email and automated text message.

Pressure Monitoring

Save water, time and energy

Sentinel® analyses pressure sensor data to determine when the filter actually requires backwashing.  This staged 60 second backwashing, combined with velocity increments, effectively clean the filter media 50% more efficiently than traditional backwashing methods. This innovative technology increases the performance of the filtration system whilst saving water in the process, providing an economic benefit not only for the environment but also for properties with a water meter installed.

Activated filter media – 100% bio-resistant

Activated Filter Media (AFM®) is fundamentally superior to sand and crushed glass because it is bio-resistant. When AFM® is in contact with water flowing through the filter, a small amount of free hydroxyl radicals are formed on the surface of the grains.  Thanks to their strong oxidation potential, free radicals protect AFM® from colonisation of bacteria and fully prevent the formation of biofilm.

Sentinel SensorBlock™

Comes pre-installed and fully calibrated

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machined from a single, solid block of acrylic, the Sentinel SensorBlock™ has been developed to encase all of the sensors required for the water analytics of any swimming pool or SPA.  The SensorBlock™ is further situated securely within the Sentinel system, behind a toughened glass screen.  This results in the prolonged lifespan of the sensors when compared to inferior systems where sensors are saddled into pipework and risk being exposed to knocks and breakages, which compromise the safety and efficiency of the system.

The Sentinel SensorBlock™ is equipped with an in-line sediment filter to create a debris free environment with increased sensor accuracy.  It also includes sensors for pH, Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), Electrical Conductivity (EC), temperature, flow proximity, and feeds from external sensors such as filter pressure and chemical tank levels.

Sentinel CoreTX™

Onboard computer with backup

The Sentinel CoreTX™ computer is the brains behind the operation.  It analyses data received from sensors attached to plant equipment and the SensorBlock™, then controls all aspects of your swimming pool and SPA maintenance.  This includes scheduling filtration run times and UV/ozone injection, backwashing filters, water analytics, and chemical correction.

To perform at full capability your Sentinel requires an internet connection to ensure scheduled filtration run times, and initiate automated email, text and twitter alerts directly to your mobile phone. But if the internet connection does become disrupted, Sentinel CoreTX™ has an onboard memory and can continue performing all the basic tasks to keep your swimming pool and SPA in perfect condition until an internet connection has been re-established.

Intelligent Dosing Tanks

With shielded bunds and injection sensors

Our intelligent chemical storage tanks hold the chemicals required to keep your swimming pool clean, crystal clear and free of any harmful contaminants.  Designed to hold up to 3 months worth of chemicals at a time, you can rest assured that your swimming pool is always in perfect condition.

Level sensors in the chemical tanks monitor the contents in real-time and relay this information to your app.  When your chemical storage becomes low, an automated email notifies our Customer Service team who will contact you to arrange a convenient time to replenish the tanks.  There is an optional email, text or twitter alert to your mobile phone.

The smart bund and spray shields that surround the chemical tanks also have a sensor built in to detect any leakages or spills.  In the unlikely event that this should happen, the hazard will be detected and an automated email will alert our Customer Service team who will contact you.  Again, there is an optional email, text or twitter alert to your mobile phone.

Though-beam sensors are attached to the chemical suction lines to detect any trapped air.  These prompt the dosing pumps to purge and prime themselves, resulting in a more precise injection of sanitiser and pH correction chemicals.
